Architecture Students Visit Barons Quay

NEWS

Last week, Architecture students from The Sir John Deane’s College were given a glimpse into the Barons Quay development project.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to discuss the project with lead architect, Matt Brook. Mr Brook explained the reasoning for the contemporary design behind the project, and how local architecture influenced the Barons Quay modern design.

Catherine Fox, Northwich Programme Manager from Cheshire West and Chester Council explained to the students about the Council’s role as client, and Ashley Rogan, from Balfour Beatty, gave an insight into the contractor’s work on site (Sir John Deane’s College).

Northwich Guardian reported that Glyn Dulson, tutor at Sir John Deane’s College stated “The student’s had a fantastic day visiting Barons Quay. It was a real insight into how architects work and the processes that they go through to take buildings through to completion”.

Overall, students thoroughly enjoyed gaining an insight into the development.
