Barons Quay ASDA Making A Difference
NEWS
Barons Quay shopping centre isn’t the only establishment to be making a difference in Northwich, as the ASDA has been helping children across Northwich. ASDA have helped children by delivering fresh fruit to the Northwich Memorial Court, helping encourage children to eat healthier.
The Memorial Court is a leisure centre for children to enjoy different activities and different forms of entertainment. ASDA are focusing on providing foods that boost your energy and helping to promote the importance of eating healthy and exercising. Northwich Memorial Court, who are managed by Brio Leisure, offer a whole host of different services for adults and juniors, helping them keep healthy.
Paul Hesketh, Northwich’s Memorial Court’s facility manager, said: “Barons Quay’s fruit donation was a fantastic way to educate and interest our young customers on the necessity of a balanced diet. All of the children from our weekly swimming lessons were delighted with their smoothie drinks and the fruit was gratefully received.”
Paul Hesketh wasn’t the only person to comment as Abby Clarke, the Community Champion at ASDA said: “It was fantastic to go down to Northwich Memorial Court and help to promote healthy eating among the young swimming group. We want our store to be at the very heart of the community, and donating to the leisure centre has been a great opportunity to help raise an important issue in a fun way.”
Overall, the fruit delivery wasn’t only a gesture for good health, but it also highlights the importance of bringing companies into the commercial space, which in turn will benefit the community.
