Asda’s online ‘Kids’ Kitchen’ has a range of recipes that have been created by children, so they’re really easy to make, look good and most importantly they’re packed with veggies and all the nutrients your child needs, so why not give them a go?

1) Irem’s Sesame Salmon – Kids’ Kitchen

This dish only takes 35 minutes to make and has less than 10 ingredients, parents and children will love this one. Irem’s recipe serves 2 people so adjust the measurements accordingly.  

  • 1tbsp clear honey
  • 1tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 2tsp finely grated fresh ginger
  • 240g pack Asda 2 Salmon Fillets, skin removed
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 250g pack Asda Wholegrain Micro Rice
  • 1tbsp Asda Reduced Salt Soy Sauce
  • 1tsp sesame oil
  • 320g Birds Eye Steamfresh Super Sunshine Mix (taken from 540g pack)

2) Lottie’s Nachos – Kids’ Kitchen

These nachos are freshly made and a healthy twist on the classic dish. You and your little ones can make the nachos yourself using Asda’s tortillas, swap out the sour cream for Asda’s 75% less fat Crème Fraîche and add in some extra veggies for a fun but nutritious meal!  

  • 4 Asda Wheat & Corn Tortillas
  • Pinch Asda Smoked Paprika
  • 1 courgette, chopped
  • 1 aubergine, chopped
  • ½tsp turmeric
  • 1tsp ground cumin
  • 100g Asda Sweetcorn, from a can, drained
  • 150g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 red onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 mixed colour peppers, chopped
  • 3tbsp orange juice
  • 75g Asda 50% Less Fat Crème Fraîche
  • 1tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 2tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

3) Lighter Sausage and Egg Muffin

Is anyone in your household missing McDonald’s? Asda have come up with an even better and healthier version to satisfy your cravings! This is one the kids will love as well as parents. Using Asda’s Light & Lean Low Fat Pork Sausages and wholemeal muffins, wholemeal versions are less than 500 cals! 

 

  • 400g pack Extra Special 6 Light & Lean Low Fat Pork Sausages
  • 4 Asda Wholemeal Muffins, split in half
  • 1tbsp light sunflower spread
  • 1 beef tomato, sliced
  • 4 medium eggs
  • Handful baby spinach
  • 4tsp Asda Rich & Sweet Tomato Chutney
  • Asda Sunflower Oil Spray
  • 4 Asda Light Cheese Singles

4) French Toast Sandwich with Chocolate Spread

This delicious breakfast treat only takes 15 minutes to make and costs less than £5 for 2 servings! This is a great breakfast to make with the kids on a weekend, you can pack in some extra fruit to keep it tasty while adding more of the good stuff. 

  • 30g Asda Nutterly Delicious! Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
  • 4 slices from an 800g Extra Special White Sliced Bloomer
  • 100g strawberries
  • 2 medium eggs, beaten
  • 50g blueberries
  • 1tsp rapeseed oil

5) Roasted Vegetable Pizza

This healthier pizza is the perfect meal to make as a family that everyone will love! You can of course adjust the toppings to suit everyone’s taste and in just 45 minutes you can create a meal that everyone will love whilst having fun doing it!

  • 400g strong white bread flour, plus a little extra, to dust
  • 7g sachet Great To Bake Easy-Bake Yeast
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 250g Asda Scratch Cook Mediterranean Veg Mix in a Herby Dressing
  • 150g Asda Italian Passata
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 125g mozzarella, drained and shredded
  • 40g Grower’s Selection Wild Rocket
  • 4tsp rapeseed oil
