Would your school like to be involved in the Barons Quay Time Capsule?
November 2021 is Barons Quay’s 5th birthday and to celebrate we want to explore the past, present and future of Northwich. We are contacting local primary schools to see if they would like to be part of this historic event, which we hope will be a fun and educational experience for children in years 5 & 6.
We want to tell future generations what it was like in 2020/21 – and what better way to do that than through the eyes of the children. (They’ll be in their late 30’s when the capsule is excavated!)
School activities will include:
Reflecting on 2020 and submitting an item that best sums up this strange and challenging year
Gen Z in the future – exploring the careers that today’s 10 year olds want to be pursue in the future
What will Northwich look like in 2051?
We plan to bury the capsule in November so between now and then we need a host of exciting items to place inside the tomb, which will be opened 30 years from now in 2051!
Before the capsule goes underground, we will display the items as part of a special exhibition at Barons Quay so that members of the local community will be able to come and see all the artefacts.
If you would like to be part of this exciting history project, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a FREE digital activity pack.
