As a major economic hub in the northwest, Cheshire West and Chester Council will be promoting the many retail and leisure opportunities on offer across the borough at Revo 2018 in Manchester, later this week.
Cabinet Member, Economic Development and Infrastructure, Councillor Brian Clarke said: “The exhibition will help us to build on the excellent leasing progress so far, for the newly developed Barons Quay in Northwich. H&M, Sports Direct and The Entertainer toy store are set to open over the coming months and advanced talks are underway with several other interested tenants.
“Joining ASDA, the Odeon and Wildwood restaurant the new lets will take the occupancy level up to 60 per cent.”
Completed in November 2017, Northwich’s Barons Quay is a riverside retail and leisure quarter being delivered by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The town has recently been shortlisted out of 150 nominations for the Great British High Street Awards 2018. With a population of 295,000 within a 25 minute drive time, and a higher than national average household spend in most retail categories Barons Quay is set to attract more big brand names in the future.
Barons Quay is just one part of the wider regeneration plans for the town centre. Several independent boutiques have joined the high street recently, including White Ribbon, Bella Boutique, Laundry and Apparel making Northwich a strong retail and leisure destination.
Work is also underway to redevelop the Weaver Square area of the town which is currently undergoing a master planning process. The master plan sets out a vision to bring new residential development and a public services building to the area and also features a flexible, multi-use community space that could be used for live music and cultural events.
A strong management team is in place to support existing and new retailers to the scheme so come along to Stand 80 to discuss what opportunities are available.
