Meet the people you nominated to be immortalised on the Walk of Fame

We had a huge number of nominations and people to be recognised.

After careful consideration based on the nominations and additional research, these people have been selected as the first group to be added to our BQ Walk of Fame.

About the People

ADAM PRITCHARD

Adam was nominated because people say he has made a lasting impact on generations of young people through his work at Kingsmead Primary School. Nominators described him as a dedicated teacher who goes above and beyond to understand every child and help them grow in confidence.

ALAN WILCOX

Alan was nominated for the legacy he has created within Northwich’s running community. People highlighted his role in founding Northwich Running Club, Northwich Junior parkrun and Northwich parkrun, helping thousands of people enjoy running and improve their wellbeing.

ALISON ALLUM

Alison was nominated because of her tireless work supporting Northwich’s environment and community spaces. Nominators praised her efforts through Sustainable Northwich, community events and projects that help keep the town greener, cleaner and more connected.

AMY WALLEY

Amy was nominated because people say she is a passionate champion for Northwich and its community. Nominators highlighted her commitment to supporting local people, promoting the town, building her business from the ground up and creating opportunities that help others thrive.

ANDY MILNE (THAT WORLD CUP GUY)

Andy was nominated for putting Northwich on the map through his football adventures around the world. People highlighted his television appearances, growing national profile and reputation as a kind, grounded and enthusiastic ambassador for the town.

BONNIE GROGAN

Bonnie was nominated after raising more than £1,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer at just six years old. Nominators praised her determination, kindness and willingness to help others, describing her as an inspiration to people of all ages.

CHRIS ROYLE

Chris was nominated for creating an inclusive fitness community where people feel welcome, supported and valued. Nominators described him as someone who inspires confidence, improves wellbeing and makes a positive difference to the lives of others.

CLIVE STEGGEL

Clive was nominated by several people who described him as one of Northwich’s greatest supporters. Through decades of community involvement, charitable work, support for local events and the success of CRS Consultants, he left a lasting legacy that continues to benefit the town today.

DANIELLE ASHLEY

Danielle was nominated for founding Danielle Ashley Activities and creating opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism. People praised her dedication to helping others and the positive impact she has made across the community.

EILEEN SHARMAN

Eileen was nominated for her remarkable fundraising work and personal resilience. Through her popular Elvis Night events she has raised thousands of pounds for charity while inspiring others with her courage and determination.

EM CLEGG

Em was nominated for founding Northwich Uke Club and bringing people together through music, friendship and community spirit. Nominators praised the positive impact the group has had on wellbeing while also raising money for local causes.

JO GREEN

Jo was nominated for more than 30 years of helping people through counselling and mental health support. Nominators described her as a compassionate and inspiring individual who has helped countless people rebuild their lives during difficult times.

KARL BROOKS

Karl was nominated for his years of voluntary service supporting grassroots football and local sport. Through his work with Witton Albion and other community organisations, he has dedicated countless hours to promoting and celebrating local talent.

LEON CAVE

Leon was nominated for his success as a professional musician and for being a proud ambassador for the area. The Status Quo drummer grew up in Hartford and continues to be a source of pride for the local community.

LOLA GOUGH-HACKING

Lola was nominated for her extraordinary bravery while battling Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. During her treatment she donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust and raised thousands of pounds for charity, inspiring everyone with her courage and determination.

PCSO LEE ROBERTSON

Lee was nominated for the difference he makes every day within the local community. Nominators highlighted his work establishing the Mini Police programme, helping young people develop confidence, responsibility and positive community values.

THE LEFTWICH SUPERHEROES

The Leftwich Superheroes were nominated for bringing joy and hope to local families during the Covid pandemic. Through surprise visits, birthday appearances and acts of kindness, they created lasting memories during a challenging time.

TOM BARROW

Tom was nominated as the creator of Northwich’s iconic Pina Colada Festival. What started as a simple idea has grown into one of the town’s most recognised and celebrated events, attracting visitors and creating community pride.

MATT LANGRIDGE

Matt Langridge earned international recognition as an Olympic rower and achieved the pinnacle of his sport by winning gold for Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. His achievements have made him one of Northwich’s most successful sporting figures.

PAULA RADCLIFFE

Paula Radcliffe is one of Britain’s most celebrated athletes and one of the greatest marathon runners of all time. Her achievements, determination and influence on long-distance running have inspired millions around the world.

RUPERT HOLMES

Rupert Holmes is an internationally acclaimed songwriter, musician and author who was born in Northwich. He is best known for writing and performing the worldwide hit Escape (The Piña Colada Song), one of the most recognisable songs ever recorded.

TIM BURGESS

Tim Burgess is the lead singer of The Charlatans and one of the UK’s most respected musicians. His successful career in music has spanned more than three decades, earning him recognition around the world while maintaining strong connections to Cheshire.

RADIO NORTHWICH

Radio Northwich was recognised for bringing the community together through local news, stories and events. The station has become a valuable platform for celebrating Northwich, supporting local organisations and giving residents a voice.

BARON LUTRA

Baron Lutra was recognised as the much-loved mascot of Barons Quay. Created by Percy Helm, the character has become a familiar face at family events and community activities, helping create memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.
