Barons Quay Supports Women’s Football with New Sponsorship!

NEWS

Barons Quay is proud to be the shirt sponsor for under 14s Witton Girls Wildcats this season, which is part of Witton Albion Junior Football Club.

The Centre has funded the new training kit for the team of 15 girls, who play as part of the Cheshire Girls Football League.

Witton Albion Junior Football Club is a thriving local Community Junior Football club in Northwich. It is run by volunteers from the local community, committed to promoting community participation in healthy recreation through football. They focus on providing safe and fun training and match-day experiences for all.

The sponsorship follows the Summer of Sport at Barons Quay, which saw four weeks of free sporting events for local families hosted at the centre during the summer holidays.

Barons Quay made the decision to sponsor Witton Girls to help encourage women’s football in the local area and highlight the great work that takes place at the football club, helping young people on and off the pitch.

Andy Ralph, Witton Albion JFC Committee member ”We are delighted that Barons Quay wanted to sponsor one of our girls teams. We’ve already seen great numbers of girls wanting to play football through our Wildcats sessions, but we hope that the success of the Lionesses will inspire a new generation in addition to our current Under 9s, 10s, 13s and 15s girls teams. We look forward to seeing the Under 14 girls in their new kit once the season starts. Any girls wanting to get involved can contact our Wildcats section at wittonssewildcats@gmail.com or via Witton Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre on Facebook”

Lina Higuita, Centre Manager at Barons Quay said: “The Lionesses were so inspiring over the summer and have no doubt encouraged many girls to give football a go. We’re proud to be waving the flag for women’s football in the local area, who knows we could have the next Ellen White right here in Northwich! Good luck to Witton Girls under 14s, we hope you have a successful season!”
