New Belonging Exhibition at Barons Quay

A new exhibition organised by Visual Arts Cheshire will go on display at Barons Quay from the 24th May, featuring artwork from over 20 local primary schools.

Belonging will run until 24th June, celebrating the resilience and creativity of local children who continued to work hard and find time to be creative during the coronavirus lockdowns.

Visitors can view the colourful artworks at Barons Quay in the units next to River Island. The displays show the children’s exploration of what it means to belong, whether that be belonging to a family, a school, a community or the wider world.

Phil Carswell, from Visual Arts Cheshire said: “The children’s perception of what it means to belong in a wider context has resulted in some stunning work and ideas and is a testament to the talent of the children and their teachers.”

Lina Higuita, Centre Manager at Barons Quay said: “It is a honour to host this exhibition, which demonstrates how something positive can come from a very difficult situation.  Local schools have shown exceptional resilience over the last year and we hope that they enjoy seeing their beautiful artwork on display.”

The exhibition is supported by Barons Quay and Visit Northwich and was organised by Visual Arts Cheshire, a voluntary organisation which promotes arts within the Northwich area.
